Natural History: Dandelion is a common weed of North American lawns. Its leaves have numerous lobes and the plant has a taproot. Dandelion is completely edible and is used as salad greens in some parts of the world. The flowers produce seeds asexually so all dandelions across St. Louis are clones of one another.
