ID Features: thick turf.
Natural History: Zoyzia grass is a warm season grass that is grown in the southern U. S. It forms a very dense turf and is drought resistant. It goes dormant in cold winters so it is unsuitable for landscapes north of St. Louis. It is a C4 grass and outcompetes many other grasses around it.
