Natural History: Virginia creeper is a vine that grows on the sides of trees throughout the state of Missouri, usually in wetter areas. It produces palmate leaves with 5 leaflets and is thus distinct from poison ivy, which has 3 leaflets per leaf. Virginia creeper produces blueish berries in the fall, eaten by many birds.
