Missouri Plants Dead nettle   (Lamium purpureum) Tracheophyta: Angiospermae: Dicot: Mint (Lamiaceae) Non-native from Europe Habitat: any part sun area. ID Features: triangular leaves, purple flowers. Natural History: Dead nettle has heart-shaped leaves and square stems. Its flowers emerge above the leaves and are purple. It is found in abandoned areas growing as a weed throughout the state.
