Habitat: any full sun area. ID Features: spreading leaves resembling upside-down spider, jointed seed heads. Natural History: Crabgrass is a European invasive warm-season (C4) grass commonly found on lawns. It is an annual and very competitive among typical lawn grasses, displacing them in long hot summers. It produces numerous tiny seeds that overwinter - the plants die in the first cold frosts of fall/winter.
