Habitat: partial shade to full sun sites. ID Features: vining plant that grows on walls and tree trunks, produces conspicuous orange-shaped flowers, has pinnately-compound leaves. Natural History: The trumpet creeper vine is an aggressive growing plant that will grow on the sides of houses, posts, tree trunks, or retaining walls. It produces tendrils for gripping surfaces along with orange flowers that are frequented by hummingbirds. It is also purchased as a vine for covering trellises in garden areas.
