Missouri Animals Daddy long legs (Phalangium opilio) Arthropoda: Arachnida: Harvestmen (Opiliones) Native North American arthropod Habitat: forest, woodland, savanna Diet: small insects ID Features: brown body, 8 long legs, walk with body far above ground Natural History: The daddy long legs is actually not a spider. They have only two eyes (spiders have 8), their abdomen is segmented (spider abdomens are unsegmented), and they cannot produce silk.
