Diet: mosquitoes, gnats, flies
ID Features: pale green body with large wing span and long wing tails
Natural History: Luna moths are common in deciduous forest. The caterpillars feed on walnut, hickory, and sweet gum leaves. It spins cocoons in leaves on the forest floor where metamorphosis takes place. It is the only species like it in North America. It produces multiple broods per year.
