Natural History: The House cricket is raised in captivity for the feeding of many reptiles in the pet industry. They are also commonly used in fishing as bait. They commonly find their way inside homes and many people find their chirps annoying. The house cricket is omnivorous, feeding on a variety of plant and animal materials.
